I am a mom of four adult children, and the proud Nana to one beautiful granddaughter. Being a Nana has deepened my love for birth, babies, and the sacred rhythms of family life in ways I never expected.
I have experienced both hospital births and home births, and I know firsthand what it feels like to move through fear, uncertainty, surrender, and deep calm. Those experiences are what shaped my calling as a doula. I believe no woman should ever feel alone during labor and birth, and that continuous, loving support can make all the difference.
My background in counseling and child development allows me to support the emotional side of pregnancy and birth—especially when unexpected feelings, fears, or past experiences arise. Birth is not just physical; it is emotional, vulnerable, and deeply transformative.
I went into my first birth well educated in the Bradley Childbirth Method, confident and prepared, with a birth plan in hand. Yet when labor began, that confidence quickly faded. After hours of early labor, I felt afraid and out of control. Our childbirth teacher, Kathi, came to the hospital and stayed by my side, gently reminding me of what my body was capable of while honoring my choices. Her presence changed everything. In that moment, I understood the profound power of support.
That experience planted a seed. For more than 23 years, I have attended births, supporting and empowering women to trust themselves and choose the birth that feels right for them and their babies. I have seen how having a doula can transform birth—from fear to strength, from overwhelm to connection—whether at home, in the hospital, or at a birth center.
As your doula, my role is to hold calm, grounded space for you and your partner. I will help you understand your options, support your wishes, advocate when needed, and walk alongside you through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the tender postpartum season.
Birth cannot be controlled, and it rarely unfolds exactly as planned. But when a woman feels informed, supported, and truly seen, she can meet whatever comes with confidence and trust. It is an honor to stand beside moms as they listen to their bodies, connect with their babies, and bring new life into the world.
